2016 Academic Bursary

The 2016 Union Gas Workers’ Council Academic Bursary application is now available online. Each year the Gas Workers’ Council offers an academic bursary in the amount of $500. To be eligible to enter the essay writing competition you must be a member, a child or a grandchild of a member in good standing within the Union Gas South bargaining unit and will be attending a post-secondary institution in winter 2016.

"What do you think organized labour can do to enhance the awareness of Mental Health Issues?"
Essays will be judged to determine the winner of the academic bursary. Decision of the judges is final.
Submissions must include, a bursary application, the applicant’s essay, applicant’s proof of admission for the given years at a post secondary institution (i.e. copy of acceptance letter); and a picture of the applicant. The successful applicant’s picture will appear on the
Union Gas Workers’ Council website.
