2017 Academic Bursary Award

Each year the Gas Workers’ Council offers an academic bursary in the amount of $500.  To be eligible to enter the essay writing competition you must be a member, a child or a grandchild of a member in good standing within the Union Gas South bargaining unit and will be attending a post-secondary institution in the winter of 2017.

"What does Unifor, or the Union in general, mean to you and your family?"
 
Essays will be judged to determine the winner of the academic bursary. The decision of the judges is final.
 
Submissions must include; a bursary application, the applicant’s essay, applicant’s proof of admission for the given years at a post-secondary institution (ie; copy of acceptance letter), and a picture of the applicant.  The successful applicant’s picture may appear on the Union Gas Workers’ Council website.

Deadline for submissions is October 1, 2017.
The successful applicant will be voted on and announced at the fall Gas Council meeting in November 2017.
